ANCYL GAUTENG STATEMENT ON THE DA’S DESPERATE MOTION OF NO CONFIDENCE AGAINST PREMIER PANYAZA LESUFI

The African National Congress Youth League in Gauteng condemns in the strongest possible terms the desperate and malicious motion of no confidence tabled by the white, racist Democratic Alliance (DA) against the Premier of Gauteng, Comrade Panyaza Lesufi.
This motion is not only an act of political opportunism, but a calculated attempt to destabilize the provincial government, derail transformation, and undermine the progressive gains made by the ANC-led administration in restoring dignity to the people of Gauteng. The Youth League and young people of this province see this move for what it is, a reckless posture by a party that has long declared war on the poor and the working class.
The DA has never been on the side of the people. Their record in government is one of destruction, failure, and callous disregard for black communities. In Tshwane, service delivery collapsed under their watch, with workers unpaid, infrastructure neglected, and communities left without basic services. In Ekurhuleni, the DA-led coalition presided over the deterioration of governance, ballooning corruption scandals, and the paralysis of service delivery. In Johannesburg, they turned South Africa’s economic hub into a theatre of chaos, garbage uncollected, roads crumbling, and residents suffering the indignity of leadership by a party obsessed with optics rather than delivery.
Now, they seek to import the same dysfunction to the province. Their so-called motion of no confidence is anchored on deliberate misinterpretation of the Public Protector’s report. The report merely outlines administrative missteps, for which clear remedial actions were prescribed and are already being implemented by the provincial government.
Residents of Gauteng must see this DA motion for what it is, a cheap political point scoring at the expense of genuine struggles of our people. The ANC-led government has progressively implemented policy interventions to deal with poverty; unemployment and inequality. The DA threatened by progress made thus far by the 7th administration because it undermines their political relevance.
The DA remains the enemy of the people, a party that has, on numerous occasions, sought international intervention to undermine South Africa’s sovereignty. They are a foreign-funded proxy for those who cannot accept a black-led government succeeding. Their agenda is clear: to derail transformation, delegitimize black leadership, and reverse the hard-won gains of our democracy.
The DA’s motion must be rejected with the contempt it deserves. The youth of Gauteng will not sit idle while agents of white supremacy seek to undo what generations of struggle built. We will defend our Premier, our province, and our people, in the legislature, in the streets, and in every space where our democracy is under threat.
The DA is the enemy of transformation!
The DA is the enemy of progress!
The DA supports the killing of children and women in Palestine!
The DA is the enemy of the people. Like all enemies of progress, it will be defeated!
