Date : 29 October 2025
The Collen Mashawana Foundation (CMF) will on Friday, 31 October 2025, host a handover ceremony of a new, fully furnished home to Ntate Vincent Kgabo in Ramotse, Hammanskraal, under the City of Tshwane.
The event will be led by Dr. Collen Mashawana, Chairman of the Collen Mashawana Foundation, together with the Deputy Minister of Human Settlements, Ms. Tandi Mahambehlala. They will be joined by senior executives and stakeholders from the City of Tshwane, National Department of Human Settlements, National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC), Afribiz, and Steel World, who will hand over the home and celebrate this milestone with the Kgabo family and the community.
The home — constructed in just one week — showcases the efficiency and innovation of Alternative Building Technology (ABT) and stands as a symbol of dignity, compassion, and progress.
This marks the third home handed over by the Foundation in the past three weeks, reaffirming CMF’s commitment to supporting disaster victims, elderly citizens, and people living with disabilities.
Ntate Kgabo, aged 70, has lived in a leaking shack for over two decades, facing harsh living conditions that have left him wheelchair-bound and partially blind. After meeting him two weeks ago, the Foundation committed to changing his life by building him a safe, accessible home.
The Foundation has also extended support to Jeffrey, a young neighbour who has been caring for Ntate Kgabo. Through CMF, he has been awarded a bursary to further his studies — showing that helping one person can create opportunities to uplift another.
