A recent forensic investigation conducted by Tayfin Forensic Auditors has unequivocally cleared the Progressive Business Forum (PBF), its chairperson Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa, businessman Groovin Nchabeleng, and their associates of all false and malicious allegations circulated on social media.
The report confirms there is no evidence whatsoever linking Dr. Ramokgopa, the PBF, or any associates to individuals currently facing criminal charges or identified as persons of interest before the Madlanga Commission. Specifically, the auditors found:
• The allegations are entirely without merit. There is no record or communication linking Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa, the PBF or her associates, including Mr. Groovin Nchabeleng to Mr. Vusumuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala or any individuals associated with him.
• There exists no evidence that Mr. Matlala or his associates have, at any time, provided financial support to any event hosted by the PBF.
These claims, which falsely alleged financial impropriety through the office of the ANC Treasurer-General or her associates, have been found to be entirely without merit.
The PBF board welcomes the report’s findings and deeply regrets the reputational harm caused to Dr. Ramokgopa and Mr. Nchabeleng by these unfounded accusations. In light of the investigation’s outcome, the PBF will be taking legal action, including defamation proceedings, against those responsible for spreading these damaging falsehoods.
The PBF remains firmly committed to transparency, accountability, and the principles of a democratic South Africa. It continues to support the work of the Madlanga Commission and calls for respect for due process, free from the influence of misinformation.
Let justice take its course.
