Youth Rising Campaign Stands in Solidarity with Premier Lesufi Against Opportunistic DA Motion

The Youth Rising Campaign stands firmly in solidarity with Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi in the face of the opportunistic motion of no confidence brought by the Democratic Alliance (DA).

This motion is nothing more than a political stunt aimed at undermining genuine progress and people-centered leadership in Gauteng. Premier Lesufi has consistently demonstrated his commitment to improving service delivery, empowering youth, and driving innovative programmes that bring tangible change to communities across the province.

As young people, we recognize and appreciate his efforts to create opportunities through initiatives in education, technology, and community safety — efforts that speak directly to the aspirations of a new generation.

We call on all progressive forces, civic formations, and community leaders to reject divisive politics that serve narrow interests instead of the collective good. The people of Gauteng need stability, vision, and continuity in leadership — not political gamesmanship.

The Youth Rising Campaign reaffirms its support for Premier Lesufi and his administration’s continued work in building a more inclusive and empowered society.
