Executive Mayor, Alderman Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, has addressed the second National Construction Summit happening in Birchwood conference centre, Boksburg.
Mayor Xhakaza says this two-day meeting will offer solutions to challenges municipalities face in delivering quality water, roads, housing and sanitation infrastructure.
He said the City is prioritizing building legacies through construction. Delivering on 11 mega housing projects remains high on his agenda.
The summit is attended by President Cyril Ramaphosa, alongside Minister for Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, with their Deputy Ministers, Premiers, MECs, Mayors and private sector well represented too. Also, in attendance from the City is Member of the Mayoral Committee for Development Planning and Real Estate, Ald Nomadlozi Nkosi.
The summit is hosted by the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure and the Construction Industry Development Board under the theme 'Unlocking Infrastructure Delivery: Raising Construction Industy Performance'.
